12/15/2008 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge Game 5 - WHL Selects trash Team Russia

Russian coach Sergei Nemchinov has to change lines once again as the OHL guys can’t play in these last two games. Because of that the first line is made up of Kagarlitsky, Klyukin and Evgeni Dadonov (Florida Panthers), the second features Dubrovsky, Pavel Chernov and Nikontsev, the third Artem Yarchuk , Komaristy and Vadim Ermolaev, the fourth Mikhail Fisenko and Menshikov, plus a spare from the other lines. The starting goalkeeper remains Sergei Gaiduchenko (Florida Panthers), it seems that Alexander Pechursky (Pittsburgh Penguins) could not get Nemchinov’s trust in the unique chance he got. 12/14/2008 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge Game 4 - Russia edged by OHL in close game

In the second game against the Ontario Selects Russia had to improve their defensive play in order to have a better chance than the precedent game, where Nemchinov's team has played a bit inconsistently. Team Russia sees in goal the return of Sergei Gaiduchenko (Florida Panthers) (Florida Panthers), also Canada changed goalkeeper, icing Belleville Bulls' Murphy. Vadim Ermolaev and Egor Dubrovsky got back to the Russian lineup too. (detailed game recap by Alessandro Seren Rosso exclusively for READ MORE
12/06/2008 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge Game 3 report - Russia faces OHL Selects

ADT Challenge moves to Ontario as the third and fourth game will see Russia vs the OHL selects, after the excellent match played by the Russians in the second match of the series. Nemchinov swaps Sergei Gayduchenko with Alexander Pechursky (Pittsburgh Penguins), while the opponents' crease will be defended by Atlanta Thrashers' prospect Chris Carrozzi. Russia also presents another news, Andrei Loktionov (Los Angeles Kings) will be the first line center. (Detailed scouting report by Alessandro Seren Rosso exclusively for READ MORE
12/01/2008 From Russia with love - Storm rookie Evgeny Molotilov has found a new home in Guelph

Evgeny Molotilov was seven years old and had just started playing organized hockey in suburban Moscow when his coach gave him a CD showing highlights of the Detroit Red Wings' 1997-98 Stanley Cup season. A dream was born. Now Molotilov is chasing that dream of playing in the National Hockey League, leaving behind friends, family and the rest of his live in its pursuit. 11/29/2008 Sergei Zinovjev (Boston Bruins) reportedly in negotiation with the Montreal Canadiens

Not being able to skate for Ak Bars, Sergei Zinovjev (Boston Bruins) is reportedly once again entertaining an option to return to the NHL, this time with the Montreal Canadiens. The Boston Bruins still own the player’s rights, so Montreal would have to negotiate with that club before the talented center could sign a deal. However, that is likely the least of the NHL club’s problems, since they would have to weigh long and hard whether Zinovjev is serious about the NHL this time around. The young forward has also had run ins with management of pretty much every club he skated for (broke Spartak’s deal when felt it was time to leave by alleging the free apartment clause wasn’t being honored, left Lokomotiv without fulfilling expectations, left Metallurg Novokuznetsk and then badmouthed the city, etc.). Still, he has skated for quite a few seasons with Ak Bars recently before these difficulties started to surface. In any case, while his NHL arrival is unlikely, it would definitely be an interesting twist in this young player’s entertaining career.
11/29/2008 Russia edges QJMHL All-stars in second game of the ADT competition

After the first game, the ADT Canada – Russia challenge moves to Saint John for the second match between the QMJHL selects and Russia, who has to find a way to fight better the opponents after the defeat suffered in game one. Nemchinov's team managed to do that, finishing the second match with a tight victory for 4-3. In this second challenge Russia played much better, not only because a better technique display, but also playing more focus and harder, as witnessed by the 8/8 in penalty killing. 11/26/2008 ADT Canada/Russia Challenge - Game 1 recap - Canada edges Russia

After a hard fought game Canada, with the QMJHL selects, got the best from Russia on the first game of the 2008 ADT Challenge. The Russians have been hurt – as usual – by the Canadians’ bigger physical play and speed in the small ice surface, as it can be seen in the second and third goal, but after all every horse has his course. Game’s most awaited players, Dmitry Kugryshev (Washington Capitals) (Washington Capitals) and Sergei Ostapchuk , didn’t shine. Kugryshev did score, but he wasn’t the presence he had to be in this game. (Exclusive recap by Alessandro Seren Rosso) READ MORE
11/19/2008 Andrei Loktionov (Los Angeles Kings) skates around language barrier

From the moment Andrei Loktionov (Los Angeles Kings) first arrived in Windsor, Spitfires coach Bob Boughner knew he was dealing with a special individual. "He lived at my house the first four days after he came here," Boughner remembered. "That first morning, he brought his own breakfast down with him." Loktionov had prepared a bowl of oatmeal. 11/17/2008 Evgeni Dadonov (Florida Panthers) shines in 4-nations tournament

In the November’s 4-nations tournament played in Sweden Russia grabbed a second place behind the hosts. For the Nemchinov’s team is just yet another runner-up placement after this August’s lost to Czech Republic. Many players in this selection will fight for a place in the WJC squad, which will surely feature some of the young players currently in the CHL like Evgeny Grachev and Andrei Loktionov (Los Angeles Kings) (Los Angeles Kings). It’s rumoured that the tournament has been attended by more than sixty NHL scouts. (Alessandro Seren Rosso article exclusively for READ MORE
